But I bet it was shining as always!

Don't try to convince me that a man who cannot understand or who doesn't care about a demonstration taking place before his eyes is able to unserstand or willing to care about such symbolism - "light turning off"! If the number of those who turned off the lights was 10 then the number of those who got the meaning of it was 1.

Do you think rights can be given? I think not, especially when giving them means the end of the giver. Rights can only be taken. I think I can take none of my rights as I stand silent! I, also, cannot take my rights when you support me against the regime. I still cannot take them if all bloggers or even Kifaya supported me. I can only take them back with such an enemy if and only if my rights are the people's rights and the people summon their courage to stand against the regime. You know what this is to be called? It is a revolution.

Well, Kifaya cannot be considered the left wing. They compromise a real nice collection of very different trends. Libertarians and socialists from every trend constitute Kifaya. The Muslim brotherhood supports Kifaya a lot. This doesn't make it the left wing. And suppose they were the left wing, then what? I only care about one thing, that is, their vision which is starkly nothing.

You know how I think about Kifaya, they are much more like those bloggers who intend to show the regular Egyptian the right way for the change, which is unknown in the first place, through the Web!! The regular Egyptian knows a lot about the Web you know!!!! Kifaya does the same but they chose the streets to propagate a never-can-be-understood message....I am assuming that there is a message here.

If they needed a phase of popularising themselves and their ideas, then the phase came to an end long ago. If it is not just a phase, then I am wondering what the is fuss for?

We intend to write about how we think about the issue and how we conceive the change later.

Thanks for the commentKareem Alkaseerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03445699602590287715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16958861.post-1149199609666644952006-06-01T15:06:00.000-07:002006-06-01T15:06:00.000-07:00I won't say that it was a day of illusion you forg...I won't say that it was a day of illusion
you forget the light turning off in Egypt , a minority did it , we did in our house, even if we were small ,but it is enough to feel we are doing something to protest ,
The day wasn't an illusion or a success
and yes the Egyptian people must be the one who change the regime
and this means revolution and I don't think this would happen soon !!
ironically the elites you are referring would be Kafya who are mostly from the left wing !!
sometimes I feel it is frustrating more than you think but then I look to the history of Egypt and I know we sure passed throught decades then thisZeinobiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12290387395565291310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16958861.post-1148755116887467732006-05-27T11:38:00.000-07:002006-05-27T11:38:00.000-07:00Thanks, my friend.Let it upset anyone. If there is...Thanks, my friend.

Let it upset anyone. If there is another explanation they can write about it. But I hope they prove themselves right at the end of the explanation.

Some accounts state that the judges escaped a trap the regime tried to set. They say that the regime was trying to relate the judges' situation in someway to the Muslim Brotherhood so that the game lose most of its appeal especially for the international players. So, the judges managed to show no support for the Muslims Brotherhood who paid most of the price until now; most of the detainees belong to the Muslim Brotherhood. These accounts, also, state that this was done in co-ordination with the Muslim Brotherhood themselves.

There is another reason, which I personally find logical. As the Muslim Brotherhood aid withdraw has negatively affected the strength of those who support the judges a great deal and, in turn, the judges' situation itself, then the Muslims Brotherhood's power is clear to all. Still nobody could blame them; most of the detainees belong to them! so they are in the safe side: no more loss, showed the greatest support and showed the regime what they are able to do with minimum effort.

They are so selfish but this is not new as you said. They only seek power. They never give a clue about what they will do if they are in power. This is so because they are still the same radicalist movement that hides behind different masks over different times.

I agree with you, it is time to hit the road.Kareem Alkaseerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03445699602590287715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16958861.post-1148751342193484662006-05-27T10:35:00.000-07:002006-05-27T10:35:00.000-07:00Well, my friend.A very thoutful post, but will ups...Well, my friend.
A very thoutful post, but will upset lots.
Anyway, you touched the heart of political actions in Egypt.

I want to add, for the reasons you mentioned above, the regime was and is able to control those movements easily cause they have no penetration to the population base of Egypt.
One exception is the Moslem Brotherhood which for sure possess such a penetration, but again not based on any convincing plans, based on the use of the word(s) "Islam" , "Islamic", "Moslem"..etc..., but as you mentioned they did not participate, I do not have any specific explanation to why ?, but it is obviously a very selfish ideology which has been always known about them.

I think this is only the begining of the dialouge about this issue.......El3en Elsehryahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13101323722828303826noreply@blogger.com
