V The Movie. "governments should be afraid of their people" is this really the message of the film? I think it is only part of the message, while the true essence of V is that you should abandon governments at all. governments should not be afraid of their people, there should be no government in the first place. The film comes with a clear message emphasizing the power of solidarity and mutual aid. We are all one, we do not need someone to rule us. And the solution? BLOW UP THE PARLIAMENT we don't need a parliament to choose for us we don't need police to watch over us we don't need laws to judge us The ideal of security and democracy is a fake one. take all that away for good, and the world would be a better place. don't you think?
I personally do not think there should not be a government and I doubt that the movie delivers this message. Blowing up the parliament is a symbol only and is a re-discovery of the original story behind the mask. The mask represents "Guy Fawkes" who was caught few hours before exploding the parliament in 1605 , and he is the face of the mask, the story is known as "The gun-powder plot". and he was discovered on the fifth of Novemeber, so here we know about the 5th of November theme.
I agree that the movie call for solidarity but not necessarily without stable powerful governemnt. The relation between security and democracy can be best explained by Abraham Lincolin view "If you try prioritize security to civil rights , you will neither achieve secure not have civil rights"
I personally think the movie is trying to exemplify the current situation in the US specifically and worldwide generally,, they are throwing lots of hints on the state of fear that the regime uses to achieve its own goals, beside the hint of killing 80,000 people and blaming Islamist ..!!! "sounds familiar ; 9/11".
It is very interesting to know that the movie was writtin in the early 90's before any of this happens , but the authors preferred to produce the MATRIX "the wrote it also" first.
I appreciate your analysis and view, but withour law, or administration at least, how do u think the world would be ?!!!
